Stretching from 9th Street to past 89th Street with parallel parking and steps to the beach, this magnificent 10 mile long structure provides a great prominade for running, biking, skating, or walking. The San Luis, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Best Western, Comfort Suites, La Quinta, and Galvestonian are just a few of the major hotel accomodations that offer Gulf of Mexico frontage. In addition, there is the soon to be re-devloped Flagship Hotel, built entirely over water. The Balinese Room, a former speakeasy, offers a ‘40’s and ‘50’s style nightspot steeped in the history of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee, Sophie Tucker and the Marx Brothers. the Texas Rangers repeatedly tried to bust the gambling operations at the Balinese - find out about the “Eyes of Texas”!
