This area, just one block from The Strand and bordering the downtown district, is home to the Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruise ship lines, and offers harbor tours for dolphin watching. There are several seaside restaurants and pier 21 Theatre productions of the Galveston Hurricane of 1900 and the Pirate Island of Jean Lafitte showing daily. Tours are available of museums, the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig, Texas Seaport Museum and the 1877 Tall Ship Elissa.
