Near Moddy Gardens are the Lone Star Flight Museum with aviation exhibits and the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame. The huge hangar houses an impressive collection of restored WWII fighters, bombers and other aircraft including a replica of the famous B-17 Thunderbird “Flying Fortress”. The museum’s planes even take flight on Fly Day in November.
